The challenge

The U.S. House of Representatives (USHR) wanted courses developed for the Congressional Staff Academy (CSA) and a comprehensive training curriculum to improve the customer experience for the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer.

Develop the courses

Analyzed course catalog and developed a gap analysis
Identified topics for course development
Interviewed subject matter experts from Congressional offices
Developed content with interactive activities appropriate for in-person or on-line delivery
Designed course slides, Facilitator Guide, participant guides, and study guides

Facilitate the teaching

Worked with CSA leadership to develop an adjunct faculty strategy and implementation plan.
Recommended governance structure for the adjunct faculty program.
Designed train-the-trainer curriculum
Provided best-in-class techniques for delivering in-person and online courses

Develop the CX curriculum

Conducted interviews and focus groups among all groups within the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (OCAO)
Identified challenges and learning opportunities
Created a curriculum with separate tracks for managers and staff
Developed content including video components for the training
Created scenarios and video scripts
Provided seven hours of training to OCAO.

The results

The CSA expanded their course catalog with four new courses. During the pandemic there were more than 500 Congressional staff registered for the online courses. OCAO has a comprehensive curriculum designed to improve the customer experience.
